Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Clean Power Choice ("we", "us", or "our") collects when you use this website (cleanpowerchoice.com), and how we use it.

Short version

We don't run accounts, we don't sell personal data, and we keep tracking to the minimum needed to understand what's working on the site. The tools on this site (like the solar savings calculator) run entirely in your browser — your inputs are never sent to us.

Information we collect

1. Information you give us

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in your message (for example, your email address, your location, or a photo of your electric bill). We use this only to respond to your inquiry and to improve our content. We do not add you to any mailing list unless you explicitly ask us to.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect standard server log information when you visit, such as:

  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • Referring website
  • Approximate location (derived from IP address, not precise GPS)

Analytics

We use the following services to understand aggregate traffic and content performance:

  • Cloudflare — our network/CDN provider. Cloudflare processes requests to serve this site and may log IP addresses for security purposes. Cloudflare's Web Analytics may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Vercel Web Analytics — privacy-focused site analytics that track page views and referrers without using cookies to identify you. See Vercel's privacy documentation.
  • Google Analytics 4 — measures page views, traffic sources, and on-site engagement using first-party cookies. Data is aggregated and used solely to understand which content is useful to readers. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies

This site uses first-party cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (typically _ga and _ga_<container-id>) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions for aggregate traffic measurement. Cloudflare Web Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics operate without cookies.

Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve advertising, as described below. You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.

Advertising

We display advertising on this site through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland), we ask for your consent before setting advertising cookies. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time through the consent message shown on the site.

Some articles may contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial conclusions — see the About page for our full disclosure policy.

Data sources

Figures published on this site (electricity rates, solar pricing, battery prices, market forecasts) are compiled from public sources, including the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), EnergySage marketplace data, SEIA, and BloombergNEF. We do not collect or store your personal data from these sources.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Data retention & security

Email inquiries are retained only as long as needed to maintain the correspondence. We use standard industry safeguards (HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls) but no online system is completely secure.

Your choices

  • Opt out of interest-based advertising: DAAC opt-out or Google Ads Settings
  • Browser-level cookie control is available in all major browsers
  • Delete your data: email us and we'll remove any personal information we hold about you

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
